Sean Biggerstaff: Biography

Sean Biggerstaff (born March 15, 1983) is an actor from Glasgow, Scotland. He was a member of the Scottish Youth Theatre until Alan Rickman offered him a role in the movie The Winter Guest in 1997, acting alongside Emma Thompson and Phyllida Law. Biggerstaff later took the opportunity to act as Oliver Wood in the first two Harry Potter movies (on the recommendation of Alan Rickman, who plays Professor Severus Snape in the series). He was also a member of the Glaswegian band Crambo, which no longer exists. He recently revealed on his website that he is in a new band, Jonny and the Robots.

He has also appeared as Chris Parsons in the webcast/audio version of the Doctor Who story Shada that was completed by Big Finish Productions in 2003.

Most recently, he played the lead role in the award-winning short film Cashback, directed by Sean Ellis. The film was so well-received that it is being expanded to a full-length feature of the same name and is expected to have a 2006 release.
