Olsen Twins Biography

Mary-Kate and
Ashley Olsen were born on June 13, 1986 in
Sherman Oaks, California to parents David and Jarnette
Olsen (currently divorced)
-
They
received their first role on TV in 1987 at the
ripe old age of one when they both shared the
role of Michelle Tanner on the hit TV show Full
House.

Their
popularity grew even after the show ended that
1995 (but can still be seen in syndication).
They began to merchandise their popularity with
videos, recordings, dolls, books and a whole
host of other items.

They
created their own production company in 1995 and
began producing many movies for the big screen
and some that went straight to video. They
also tried our a TV series entitled Two of a
Kind in 1998 that had minimal success.

In
2003 they were awarded the
Franchise Performers Award
-
They
received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in
2004.

Throughout
their careers they have been awarded or
nominated for many acting roles including:

The Olsen twins
announced that they will not be making any more
of their own movies, but, in September 2005,
announced that they will be managing the career
of another new set of twins - the Sprouse Twins
(Dylan and Cole) who currently star in the
Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack and
Cody.

When the dynamic
duo are not running their billion dollar empire
(DualStar Entertainment Group), they can be seen
taking classes at NYU. However, in
October, 2005, Mary-Kate announced that she is
leaving school to keep a closer eye on their
business.
