Naveen Andrews: Biography

Naveen William Sidney Andrews (born January 17, 1969) is a British actor. Born in London, England, of Indian origin, he is best-known for his roles in The English Patient (1996) and as Sayid in the popular 2004 television series Lost. He lives in Los Angeles, California with his girlfriend, actress Barbara Hershey.

Personal Life

Andrews is a recovering drug addict and alcoholic. He suffered from these conditions when he lived in London, England during his early twenties, and his promising screen career nearly ended. Andrews was forced to move across the Atlantic to America to seek rehabilitation and get his life back on track. His efforts were successful, and he has vowed never to return to London because the city provides painful memories of his alcohol and heroin addictions.

 

He also plays guitar and sings. Additionally, he has a young son Naveen Andrewsd Jaisal from a previous relationship.
