Melania Trump Biography
-
Melania Knaus was born on May 6, 1970 in Maribor, Slovenia
(Yugoslavia). Her parents knew the value of a good education and
Melania spent much of her early childhood studying.
-
Besides being smart, she was also beautiful and began modeling at an
early age. Although she did receive work in Yugoslavia, she wanted
to try and make it in the U.S. She settled in New York, and although
she did receive work (e.g, TV commercial for Panasonic), she did not
make as splash on the modeling scene.
-
In
1999, she met billionaire
Donald Trump at a fashion
event. At the same time she received a big modeling job for
Allure magazine. Over the next few months, her beau, Donald,
was running for president. During his campaign the spotlight was
meant for him, it seemed to have followed her around even more. Her
notoriety was raised a few notches after appearing on the Howard
Stern Show with Mr. Trump and revealing their naughty sex life.
This led to a nude layout in British GQ, including the cover
shot in January of 2000. She was considered a supermodel in many
parts of Europe, although she did not achieve that level of fame in
the states.
-
As
Melania’s relationship with Donald grew, Melania continued to do
modeling, but also became involved with the social set of New York.
She has appeared as a judge at the Miss USA Pageant (owned by
Donald) in 2003 and appeared as Trump's loving girlfriend and wife
on his hit television show, The Apprentice.
-
Donald Trump
proposed to Melania in April 2000 and they were married on January
22, 2005 in a large, elegant and very expensive wedding.
-
Melania and Donald Trump have announced
that she is pregnant with Donald's fifth child.
