Mario Dewar Barrett (born August 27, 1986 in
Baltimore, Maryland), professionally known as Mario is an R&B singer who is most
known for his 2005 hit "Let Me Love You", which won two Billboard awards that
year.
Mario is signed to Clive Davis's J Records, and is
a labelmate of Alicia Keys (who has also composed songs for Mario), Luther
Vandross, Cassidy, and Monica. His musical influences include Stevie Wonder,
Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole, Brian McKnight, Boyz II Men and Joe. He
currently resides in New Jersey. Mario will be featured on Rhymefest's upcoming
album, Blue Collar, on the song "All Girls Cheat."
