Maria Menounos Biography

Maria Menounos was born on June 9, 1978 in
Medford, Massachusetts. She grew up in a Greek home and can speak
fluent Greek.

She was a good student as well as beautiful,
and began to enter beauty contests while in High School. In
1996, she was crowned Miss Massachusetts Teen USA. She continued to
appear in beauty contests over the next few years, and even became
runner-up in the Miss Massachusetts contest in 1999.

She has been involved in the film
industry even as a teenager and helped create and produce an
independent film (a musical fantasy) called George's Auto.

She attended
(and later graduated from) Emerson College in Boston.
During her senior year, she became an international reporter for
Channel One News (a daytime news program for children). This gave her great experience in the field,
including going to El Salvador to to report on an Earthquake in 2001
and she had the opportunity of interviewing President Bush.

She became an
entertainment correspondent with Entertainment
Tonight in April of 2002 and has done fantastic interviews with many
people throughout the world of entertainment. [Note: when asked
years earlier during the Teen USA contest what she would like to do
when she got older, she said she wanted to work for E.T.]

She is the Executive Director and
co-founder of the Take Action Hollywood! charity which influences
other charities and themselves to raise social awareness. One
of these films,

the Land of Merry Misfits, she produced herself.

She was named as one of
the 50 Most Beautiful People by People magazine in 2004.
Also in 2004, she was a big splash at the Academy Awards by wearing
one of the sexiest dresses (worth 2.5 million dollars) of the night
that only complimented her beauty. [Note: Pictures of her in that
dress were one of the most downloaded pics on the net for the few
weeks following the ceremonies.]

Although she has not
yet been given a full time role on One Tree Hill, she has
appeared as the beautiful Jules almost one dozen times so far over
the 2004 and 2005 seasons. She also has appeared on television as
host of Countdown to the Oscars and the Teen Choice Awards.

She has been appearing in Pantene hair
product commercials in 2005. In 2005 she also appeared as a
sexy nurse and love interest of Johnny Storm (the Human Torch) in
the film adaptation of the comic book Fantastic Four.
