One
Down-to-earth Girl
When asked to describe herself in one word,
Jennifer Hawkins said "vivacious". She is bubbly, and this roots from
her humble beginnings. When she was younger, she saw a lot of models who
were really arrogant and she promised herself never to become one of
them. She is one of the very few down-to-earth girls in modelling.
Accidents
On September 2, 2004 her skirt fell to her
knees while modelling at a Sydney fashion show, and this was captured
and widely broadcasted throughout the Australian and International
media. Just a few days later, Jennifer caught the Australian media's
attention yet again. In Melbourne to promote Spring Fashion Week, Miss
Universe stumbled on her way down to the Yarra River bank for a gondola
ride.
Television
Jennifer's ambition to become a television
presenter was helped along when she announced that she had signed a
contract with the Seven Network at the 2004 Melbourne Cup Carnaval. Her
first appearances were as a guest presenter on the network's travel
show, The Great Outdoors, where she will took viewers on tours
throughout the world. It is widely believed that she will become a
regular presenter on the show when she ends her reign as Miss Universe,
in 2005.
