Howard Stern Biography

Howard
Stern was born on January 12, 1954 in Roosevelt,
Long Island. He was married for 20 years
to Alison Stern and had three children (divorced
in 1999).

His start in radio came in
the early 1970's
as a DJ at
Boston University's radio station.
-
Stern's first professional
radio debut came in 1977 at a small radio
station in Briarcliff Manor, NY.

Due to his own
(sometimes
crass) comedy/talk show styling, he worked his
way into larger markets such as Detroit, then
New York City on WABC.

Hated by as many people as
he is loved, he eventually
climbed his way to the most listened to DJ on
the radio on New York's K-ROCK 92.3.

His fame allowed him to
launch a syndicated television and
radio show, produce a blockbuster movie (Private
Parts) and
publish two best selling books. His
success in these various ventures has allowed
him to self-proclaim himself as the "King of All
Media."

In 2000, he was awarded
the Adult Video
Awards Special Achievement Award

He has announced his plans
to conquer another new
media -
Satellite Radio [SIRIUS] - and will begin to broadcast on
this fledgling media beginning January 2006.
