Heidi Klum Biography

Heidi Klum was born on June 1, 1973 in
Bergische Gladbach, Germany to Erna and Gunther Klum.

Heidi was beautiful young woman, and as
a senior in High School in 1991, saw an ad for the Modeling ’92
Competition in a fashion magazine she and a friend (Karin) were
reading. She did not think that she had the “right stuff” to enter,
but her friend persuaded her that she was just as good looking as
the models in the magazines and to send in her picture. Weeks
later, she was one of forty finalists, and soon after was named
Model ’92 by Petra magazine.

Winning this contest led to her signing
a contract with the Metropolitan modeling agency after she finished
school at the Integrierte Gesamtschule Paffrath, and from there her
career only got better. She appeared on magazines and in fashion
shows in Europe, then later in the United States. She first moved to
Florida, but then went north to the more competitive market in New
York City.

After only a few years she became an
“Angel” for Victoria Secrets in 1997 as well as appearing in Sports
Illustrated Swimsuit Editions the following year (on the cover in
the 1998 edition).

In 1997, Heidi got married to
hairstylist Ric Pipino, however, they separated in late 2002.

Beauty and good looks are not her only
talents. She has also appeared on television and in the movies,
including the movie 54 and in the James Bond thriller
Everything or Nothing. Her actual television debut was supposed
to be a small part on the television Spin City playing
herself as a love interest of Michael J. Fox’s character in one
episode in 1998. This wound up being a reoccurring role for her.
Her move debut was in the comedy BlowDry the same year. She
was also the host of the popular cable television show Wild On
beginning in 2001 until 2004.

Heidi is also an entrepreneur. She has
created her own lines of footwear, jewelry, perfume and most
recently swimsuits.

She became a mom in May 2004 to former
boyfriend Flavio Briatore to daughter Leni. She became engaged to
long time friend Seal (musician) in December 2004 and the are
expecting a child sometime in the Fall of 2005. The couple got
married in a secret ceremony in May 2005.

The beautiful Heidi was given the
ultimate compliment to her beauty, she had a flower named afer her.
She had a pink-petaled rose named after her in a ceremony in
Cologne, Germany in May 2005.

Hobbies and Interests: Spending
time with her family, dancing (jazz), traveling, skiing, painting,
browsing through flea markets.

Favorites: foods = her mom’s
homemade cooking, including her sauerkraut, spinach and white bean
soup – also her grandma Lini’s potato dumplings and potato salad,
desert = black licorice and hazelnut ice cream, music = James Brown,
Dido, U2, Nikki Costa and Moby
