Clay Aiken was born
Clayton Holmes Grissom on November 30, 1978 in
Raleigh, North Carolina to Faye Aiken and Vernon
Grissom.

He always had a passion
for singing, but his other passion took over for
most of his life and he became a school teacher.

In 2001 he had his big
break in music when he appeared on, and won
American Idol, the smash TV music talent
contest.

He released his first
album, Measure of a Man in 2003 and it
instantly became a huge success.

His newest release,
Merry Christmas With Love (Dec. 2004) is
already a big success and has broken sales
records for debut Christmas albums.
