Brendan Gleeson is an Irish actor who was born on March 29, 1955 in Dublin, Ireland. He started acting at age 34 and has acted in over 30 films including Cold Mountain, 28 Days Later, Troy, Kingdom of Heaven, The Village and Braveheart. He frequently appears in the role of mentor or authority figure. He and his wife, Mary, have 4 sons. He played Mad-Eye Moody in the fourth Harry Potter movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and might play the same role in the fifth movie.
