Ali Landry was born on July 21, 1973 in
Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. She has two younger siblings: a sister
named Gena and a brother named Ty.

She was popular in High School and was
a member of the cheerleading squad for her school – Cecilia High
School. Interestingly, her sister, Gena (years later) attended the
rival school – Breaux Bridge High School (and was a cheerleader for
her school as well). She also excelled at ballet, tap dance and
gymnastics (which she still enjoys).

A natural beauty, she began modeling
and appearing at beauty contests around her home state of
Louisiana. She even won Miss Louisiana Teen USA in 1990.

After graduating High School in 1991,
this young beauty went onto college at the University of
Southwestern Louisiana in Lafeyette and majored in Mass
Communications.

School was not enough for this young
go-getter and she continued to compete in beauty pageants. In 1996,
she became Miss Louisiana and followed this up by winning the Miss
USA beauty pageant later that year. [note: she placed 6th
in the Miss Universe pageant in 1998 as well.]

She gained her most lasting image in
1998 from a Doritos commercial that aired during the Super Bowl in
1998. She has since appeared in other Dorito’s commercials and has
affectionately been known as the “Doritos Girl” – even if she is
trying to shed that image.

In 2000, she hosted the Miss USA
Pageant and did such a great job that she was nominated for the 2001
ALMA Award for Outstanding Host of a Variety or Awards Special

As for love, she dated Mario Lopez for
most of the late 1990s and early 2000s, until their three-week
marriage in 2004. They were married on April 24th of
that year, but she annulled the marriage on May 12th
because she found out that Lopez allegedly cheated on her during his
bachelor party. However two years later she married again, this
time to film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde on April 8, 2006 in
a ceremony in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Over the next few years she continued
modeling as well as some acting. Her television debut on a TV show
was in 1997 on an episode of Clueless. Her big screen debut
was in Beautiful, a movie released in 2000 about a girl who
gives up everything to compete in an beauty pageant. She has
appeared on many magazine covers and has ranked very well on many of
the “most beautiful women” listings that come out every year by
various magazines – including People’s 50 most beautiful people in
the world in 1998.

She is currently appearing as a
recurring character in the Television series Eve and has just
completed filming the movie Bella slated to be released late this
year.
